What is it
Now more than ever it's important to have a web presence the first thing, potential employers will do having reviewed your CV will be to Google you to see what they can find out about you. Social media can be a great way to build a professional web presence and to demonstrate your skills and expertise but not everyone is on the social media platform that you are on.
That is why it is useful to have a personal website that you can use to promote your skills and expertise.Google sites is part of Google drive and it allows the user to create a website without needing to know HTML.

When to use it
I can see Google sites being beneficial to teachers in providing them with a platform which they can share resources with the learners whether that be reminders or setting homework or making it easier for the students to access quizzes, links to resources, without the need to log in.
Students could also use Google sites to create e-portfolios to enable them to showcase their work and skills, whilst also linking to their social media accounts. It could also be a great platform to enable students to work collaboratively as part of a project based learning assignment.
